This radio image shows a wealth of details,
the most interesting of which is a long filamentary structure known as
the Snake. This feature is 200 light years long that appears to cross
the shell of a supernova remnant. The source responsible for generating
its structure and its illumination is still a mystery. Another unusual
source is seen to the left of the image is known as "the Mouse." Radiation
from the Snake, the Mouse and the supernova remnant are all produced by
the fast-moving electrons spiraling around magnetic field lines.
