The Hubble Deep Field, taken with NASA's
Hubble Space Telescope, is the "deepest ever" view of the universe, peeking
into the farthest regions of space. This single image of the Hubble Deep
Field was assembled by combining many smaller images. Many traditional
galaxies, spiral and elliptical, are present in the image, but there are
also a number of irregular galaxies in the far reaches of the universe.
The distribution of galaxies in this image is thought to be representative
of the distribution across the entire universe.
